ToyFare Action Figure Poll
October 27, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment
As posted over on StarWars.com:
“Readers of the December issue of ToyFare magazine may have noticed a full mugshot spread of 30 characters from the Star Wars universe — 30 characters that have yet to be made into the latest wave of action figures!
ToyFare and Hasbro have teamed up for the latest fan-choice action figure poll for 2009, which is still open for participation at ToyFare’s site. There are some old faces but many new, including the likes of notorious EU “bunnyman” Jaxxon and cantina barfly Tzizvvt. What, green rabbit men and fly-headed aliens aren’t your cup of tea? Then make your vote heard by heading over to the poll!“
Star Wars: Tauntaun Cake
October 24, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment
Star Wars artist Chris Trevas quite frankly got the best groom’s cake ever created when he and his bride had Courtney Clark of the Food Network create this tauntaun cake. A tauntaun laying dead on it’s side with Luke getting warm and tasty. Where was this whole groom’s cake idea when I got married? I mean, seriously!

Click here and head on over to the Official Starwars.com Blog for more fantastic pictures and tidbits from Chris on the cake. Best cake ever!
A New ‘Star Wars’ Trilogy Directed by Spielberg and Coppola?
October 23, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment

Um … probably not. But the folks over at Market Saw seem to believe that they’ve uncovered secret galactic plans to create a brand new big-screen Star Wars trilogy in 3D. However, they claim these films wouldn’t be directed by George Lucas — instead, he’d pass them off to other directors like Steven Spielberg or Francis Ford Coppola (who Market Saw claims their source mentioned directly as a potential candidate). Yeah, definitely let me know when Coppola decides to direct a Star Wars film so I can look out my window and watch all the pigs flying.
Almost immediately after this rumor hit, folks began to read between the lines. Market Saw, who’ve been the unofficial Avatar fansite for awhile now, continually mention in their piece that Avatar has to do well in theaters in order for this new Star Wars trilogy to happen since Lucas wants the films in 3D and needs more theaters to come equipped with 3D technology. As AICN points out, it seems like someone at Fox is spinning a marketing web by putting the thought in folks’ heads that if they go see Avatar, they’ll be helping to bring new Star Wars movies to life.
From MS: “How seriously should you consider these rumors? Well it is coming from a source that SHOULD KNOW. This source is absolutely connected. So odds are it is seriously being talked about at Lucasfilm. Right now. Will it happen? AVATAR will have to hit and hit big and then all the stars have to align properly - all I can do is pass on the info.”

SW Battlefront: Elite Squadron CG Trailer
October 18, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment

We’re gradually getting closer to the November 3rd release date of Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron on the PSP and DS. We have a couple previews for you today as well as a glimpse at the CG trailer if you’ve yet to see it.
Kotaku provides quite the positive preview of the PSP version:
“I’m glad Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron’s space-to-ground transitions made it into the multiplayer –- there was some initial confusion about whether or not the PSP Infrastructure could handle it.
But the final answer is yes. Yes, Elite Squadron can handle all 16 players leaping from space combat to ground battles and back again almost at once. Yes, it can get hectic and confusing. And yes, you will totally love it.”
IGN’s preview clues us in on the story of the game beofre diving into multiplayer and Conquest mode:
“I didn’t get much time with the single player campaign, but I was able to see that it spans a significant portion of the end of the Clone Wars portion of Star Wars lore. Players take on the role of X2, a highly trained clone trooper whose was used as both a teacher of other clone troopers and as a skilled warrior. Both he and his clone brother, X1 were considered the best of the best, and it was believed that the duo would hunt down, eliminate the Jedi and ensure the Empire’s existence after Order 66. As a result, they were dispatched to many of the more memorable battles within Star Wars history, such as Kashyyyk, Hoth, and Dantooine. However, a confrontation was brewing between the brothers that could determine the fate of the Empire, the Rebellion and perhaps the entire galaxy.”

Lucas Is A Star Wars In Concert Fan
October 11, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment
Those on the fence as to whether or not to check out Star Wars in concert when it comes to a city near you should know that the concert has The Maker’s approval. Click here for an interview with George Lucas at CNN for his thoughts on the tour. Excerpt below:
“George Lucas: I’ve seen some presentations of, you know, live orchestras with “Star Wars” clips, and that sort of thing. But this is so much more than that — it’s so much more emotional, because what they’ve done is taken the emotional content of the score … one is obviously the Imperial March, one is obviously romantic … and then they’ve cut all the pictures around that from all the movies, so that you get this really wide range of visuals going with the music, and it really is quite powerful when you see the depictions of all of the various Imperial shenanigans that were going on over the Imperial March.”
